Why do we need music?

I think we need music, because without music we would miss something, something big in our lives.
Through music people can express their emotions and share them with others. In the lyrics of music, people can talk about their own problems and people who would listen to that might reconize themselves in the lyrics of the song.

Music is a beautifull way of expressing your emotions

With every part of making music you are expressing emotions. During writing the lyrics, singing the song, playing an instument. Everything is about emotions. Also the listeners of music will choose their music through their emotions. When your sad you will mostly listen to sad music and when your happy or feeling good you will probably listen to music that you like and makes you happy.

Music also is a huge entertainment in our lives, at least in mine. You can go to concerts, when you need to go somewhere by bike, you just get your Ipod with some fun music on it, and you are ready to go! Without music we wouldn't have disco's and party's! Well we would have party's, but come on, one of the funnest things about party's is that you can dance! Without muic we probably wouldn't even dance. Going to Hilversum at Saterday night wouldn't be fun without music, wouldn't it? A movie without some music on the background at some parts, would also be boring, right?

I really think we need music, and I'm glad that we have music.

First Music Lesson

07-09-09
Today was our second music class.
The first hour we talked about the History of music. I don't really like music history, I don't like history at all, haha. The one thing that I did like was the talk about the monks and how they first made music (by slapping themselves with sticks).
The second hour today we went singing! I think that was really fun.
We started with singing: Baby Just. We sang it as a kanon, but I think that together we sounded really bad, haha. Because one group you really heard singing, one group you just didn't hear. It was weird.
After that we started a new song, we are going to focus on this song for the coming couple of weeks. The other song was really fun aswell, we sang that also as a kanon, but I thought it sounded better than the other song.
So overall I thought this lesson was fun!

What have I done with music so far?

When I lived in England and was about 6 years old, I started playing the flute. I played the flute for two years. After those two years I moved, so I stoped playing.
5 years later I started to play an instument again, this was the piano. I played the piano for one year, I also had to perform for people. I liked doing this, but I didn't like my teacher. I can remember that I was always pissed of her not telling I did a good job at rehearsing my songs, haha. Because she never did that, I actually stopped practising piano outside my lessons, until one day my piano teacher called my parents and told them that she didn't want to teach me anymore because I didn't practise hard enough. Well ok, I didn't like her eather, haha. Sinds then I haven't played a instument anymore. However I would really really want to learn how to play drums or the guitar.

Nowadays I almost listen to music every day. I listen to a lot of different artists. I listen to Kempi, but then again also to Ne-yo, Jamie Foxx, also to Beyonce, Rihanna. On another blog I will tell more about to which artists I listen.

I maybe do not play a music instrument, but I do dance on music. I ofcourse dance on music at party's, but I also take dance lessons. I dance 5.5 hours a week. I don't just dance one style. During 3 of those 5.5 hours I have to go to Amsterdam. There I go to the school "Lucia Marthas" and I take ballet (on classical music) and Pop show musical. During pop show musical I dance on all kinds of music, music from Missy Eliot, but I also have danced on Enigma.
Through dancing I learn to really listen to music. During dancing you have a lot of steps on accents during the song. For example you need to make movements during a breath from the singer, or you need to do something from the moment when you hear a piano start playing.
I also have a minimum of one big dance performance a year. In total I think I danced in about 6 or 7 dance shows. For a lot of people. If I'm lucky I can also enter a dance battle group. But I don't know if I can stay in the group, I really hope so.

Farther I also joined the 80 db once. That was really cool and fun to do! I joined together with Renee, Christine and Julia. We sang the song accidentaly in love - the Counting Crows. Joining the 80 db I really liked! We joined when I was 13 years old. We also all sang a solo piece. I sang the first part of the song allone. That was really scared because I had to start singing, three nights, for a lot of people, all by myself! But I did it and really liked it :D!

One thing I also joined, when I was 12 years old, was a show with at the Singer, in Laren with the "Papegaai". The Papegaai make a lot of shows, with singing and acting. I then only participated with the singing part. It was three nights long, and we sang with grown-ups and children together all different songs about Laren.
Another performence I did was also on my school. For a project we needed to sing in frence, german of spanish. Together with Christine, Renee and Sophie I chose to sing in frence. We sang the song Elle from Melissa M. It was really scared haha. We needed to sing in front of all the 3rd years. (we were also 3rd graders). It was really scared, but we did manish to get a 7/8 for Frence.

Farther I haven't really done anything more with music, and if I forgot to tell something you will read it somewhere else.

I hoped you enjoyed reading so far!
